Happy Fall, Ya’ll!
Several of my writer friends have new books hitting the shelves and I thought I’d share a few of them with you. Just click the book title to order your copy – or get a jump on your holiday shopping!
Children’s Picture Book: The Cat Who Crossed the Ocean by Robin MacBlane and Larry Whitler (Larry is also the illustrator). This charming book teaches children about relationships, determination, and the things we do for those we love. Robin and Larry hosted a radio talk show for many years and are both incredibly creative – and Larry’s illustrations are gorgeous.
By the way, Robin and Larry interviewed me for their new podcast called, The World Spins Fine on Her Own and we had great fun chatting about BEYOND POWER, monkeys, writing and the Ocala National Forest. You can listen HERE.
WW2 historical romance: A War Apart by Barbara Whitaker
I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming story of life and love during WW2. Guy and Rosemary are well-drawn, endearing characters and I eagerly turned pages, rooting for their happy ending. Barbara’s knowledge of history adds depth to every page of A War Apart. A wonderful second book from a talented author.
Harlequin Intrigue (Romantic Suspense): Cowboy Under Fire by Lena Diaz
The tagline reads: A Justice Seeker known for getting answers is about to face the ultimate test…. Oooohhh! Lena is such a talented author that I eagerly gobble up every book of hers I can get my hands on. This is book 1 of her new Justice Seekers series and I can’t wait to start reading!
Southern Mystery: Burying Daisy Doe by Ramona Richards
I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait for the next Star Cavanaugh Cold Case. Ramona seamlessly combined all the things I love into one fabulous story: a heroine to root for – and a hunky police chief she’d be a fool to resist – a tightly-plotted mystery, a small town peppered with lovable, quirky characters and ultimately, justice for those who’d waited much too long to receive it. This series will definitely go on my “auto-buy” list. Highly recommend!
Contemporary Romance: The Sound of Falling Leaves by Lisa Carter
Lisa deftly weaves small-town corruption, generational blood feuds and the haunting ballads of the Appalachian Mountains into a suspenseful, moving story of redemption and second chances. You will remember Zeke and Tessa’s story long after you turn the last page.
Contemporary Romance: The Slow Burn by USA Today Bestselling author Caro Carson
This is book 2 of Caro’s Masterson, Texas series, and involves a hunky firefighter and the woman whose baby he helped deliver at the side of the road. Her books are always so charming, romantic and fun! I loved the first in this series and can’t wait to read this one!
Contemporary Romance: Mistletoe & Mr. Right by Sarah Morgenthaler
This unexpected love story proves that opposites can not only attract, but can discover they’re exactly what the other needs. I was a bit put off by the opening scene, but it was worth reading past that. It’s also set in Alaska (yes!) with a cast of unexpected, quirky characters, who make it extra fun.
Hope you’ll check these out and let me know what you think!
Happy Reading!
