Ever Wonder How a Manuscript Becomes a Screenplay?

Subscribe to my newsletter

I know I have. Actually, when the opportunity came to transform one of my stories into a screenplay, I had no idea where to start. But I knew I wanted to do this. I also knew I needed to learn. A lot.

A book manuscript and a screenplay are two completely different things, so you have to think differently. Very differently.

Fast forward almost three years and today, Gone Fishin’—my novel manuscript–has become Catch of a Lifetime—a romantic comedy feature film.

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, you can check it out at: You can even pre-order the DVD. (Can you tell I’m very excited!)

You can also find news, photos and info on our Facebook Fan page:  Catch of a Lifetime.

But if you’ve ever wondered what’s involved in that Manuscript-to-Screenplay process, I’m happy to share the steps I took. This isn’t necessarily the “right” way to do it, or even how it “should” be done. But that’s how I did it.

If you’re interested in the process, I’m blogging about it today at Secrets of 7 Scribes.

I’d hate to be there all alone, so would you stop by if you have a minute? I’d love to know what you think…

Many thanks,
