The Conversation
Wow – I got this book as an ARC and I’m glad I did. The story of “Speranza”. A group of unaffiliated(?) women world wide who assist other women. Yet the story was more than that. It was about a missing painting, kidnapped vulnerable women, and the Prince of Neuhansberg and his deceased (murdered?) wife and children. There were two stories working interconnected while involving some of the same characters. The flow of both stories was seemless, the action was continous and there were enough plot twists to keep the reader from anticipating the ending. This is a book and an author I was not familiar with but I am thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to read Connie’s work. I am already looking to see what’s next. As a side note the hero’s of the story are actually heroines, several of them. While this may be one of the main focuses of the story I personally didn’t pay alot of attention to it, the characters and the story were so good the fact that they were women wasn’t relevant to my reading of the story. That’s not exactly the point I’m trying to make. I guess what I’m trying to say is that while being aware the story was about women I wan’t feeling as if they were an oddity, I guess I accepted them as true heroes without label.
Thanks, Mike! I’m delighted that you enjoyed the story. I so appreciate the great review. 🙂 All the best to you, Connie
