Write YOUR life story

I firmly believe every life is a story – and those stories should be told.

Have you ever thought about writing YOUR life story—or part of it—for family, friends, and future generations? Is that thought intimidating? Overwhelming?

Maybe you’re not a writer. That’s okay. I’m sure you have people in your life who would love to know, as Paul Harvey said, “The rest of the story.”

Looking back, I wish I had asked my grandparents to tell me their life stories—and had thought to write them down or record them in some way. But I didn’t, and that opportunity is gone forever. Of course, their stories live on in “remember when” reminiscing at family gatherings and in old photos, but those are snippets, glimpses, without the first-hand ties to the people who lived them.

If you live near the Orlando area, I’d like to invite you to take that first step in getting YOUR story written. My dear friend and published author Leslie Santamaria and I are hosting a workshop called, “Write YOUR Story” on Saturday, November 19th.

We can help make writing YOUR story FUN. We’ll give you plenty of tips, tools, and tricks for capturing your memories and bringing them to life!

Write YOUR Story Workshop

 November 19, 2011 —   10:00a.m. to 11:30a.m.

Between the two of us, we’ve published novels, nonfiction books, children’s stories, articles, curricula, blogs, and devotions. More importantly, we love to teach and encourage others to tell their stories.

Whether you’ve only dreamed about writing YOUR story or you’ve already started, we can help with all stages of the process—from brainstorming to publication.

If you’ve been toying with the idea, why not take that first step and join us?

Please click on the links for more information or to register for Write Your Story. (And if you know anyone who might be interested, by all means invite them, too. Thanks!)

Here’s hoping we’ll see some of you there!

  1. Katy Lee says:

Wow, I wish I was in the area. I speak on my story with AGLOW. But whenever I try to write it, I can’t. If you ever do this as an online workshop let me know.

And Connie, I got back online yesterday, YEAH! There are still many homes without power and heat, but nine days was enough for me! It sure was cold. But I still want to come and hang out with you here. Give me a couple weeks to regroup and get my home back together.

    • Connie Mann says:

Nine days without power?? Oh Katy, I’m so sorry to hear that. Glad you are warming up now. Brrr…can’t imagine.

Wish you lived closer too. I’d love to hang out–in person or online. Just let me know…

  2. I don't think so says:

Sounds like the most narcissistic thing I’ve ever heard. But most writers are narcissists.
    You asked for opinions.

  3. So funny you mentioned this, Connie. I was asked by someone yesterday if I was interested in writing THEIR story. You know what, I think I might do it.Good luck with the workshop!. 🙂
