Thanks to my awesome friend, writer, and fellow blogger Jamie Janosz for passing along this blog prompt. Try it out on your blog or just enjoy reading it and meeting some new bloggers!

What do you think of when you hear the word tag? I think of youth camp and youth retreats, where tag usually involved shaving cream, water balloons and/or water pistols. I was often one of the instigators (I know, shocking, right?), but didn’t have the speed to outrun the taller, faster kids I tagged. My left knee still aches occasionally from one unfortunate tag escapade.

Do you think you’re hot? I live in Florida and I pilot boats, so I spend a good bit of the year not only hot, but in serious danger of melting into a puddle of goo. My husband and kids say you can get frostbite in my car—I set the air conditioner that cold.

But – seriously – I still feel like I’m twenty, so that older woman staring back at me from the mirror is a little unnerving. But I like her. I think maybe she’s picked up a smidge of wisdom along the way.

When was the last time you ate chicken? At the last family cookout we hosted about two weeks ago. I marinated the chicken breasts in Mojo Criollo, a family favorite, and then hubby did his grill master magic. We added rice pilaf and skewers of grilled veggies and pineapple and called it…fabulous!

The song(s) you listened to recently. I’m a big fan of Casting Crowns and love, love the music video to Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me). It’s a remake of an old hymn and whenever I hear it, I find myself belting it out for days afterwards.

But when I’m writing, no lyrics (or I sing instead of write). I plug in some instrumental jazz, instead. My absolute favorite CD is The Best of Sidney Bechet.

What were you thinking as you were doing this? That this is a fun way to get to know people better. And I’m so glad to be part of a community of so many talented writers and bloggers.

Do you have nicknames? What are they? Hmm…actually, Connie is a nickname. But if I told you my real name, I’d have to cut out your tongue afterwards. It’s a little secret that stays between me and official documents. In high school, though, I was “Con” and these days, I’m most often “Capt’n Connie.”

Who’s listed as No. 1? Jamie. We were friends 25 years ago in college and reunited during the Chicago Blizzard. I absolutely love her writing, her fabulous wit and her wonderful vintage clothes!

Say something about No. 5. I got to know Heather (and Jeff) on my recent writing trip to Europe with Wycliffe. I love her passion for stories and what God’s doing in this world.

How did you get to know No. 3? I did my very first guest blog post on Anne’s blog and had a ball. We are both part of Faith, Hope and Love, the inspirational chapter of Romance Writer’s of America.

How about No. 4? I met Eva Marie in Orlando at the Word Weaver’s writer’s group. Love her blogs about life in the South.

Leave a message for No. 6. I miss seeing you at Central Florida Romance Writer’s meetings, Terry. But I so enjoy the pictures from your new home in Colorado.

Leave a lovey dovey message for No. 2. That’s easy. Debi is both friend and sister of the heart. Love you! She’s the one who first encouraged me to start blogging!

Do No. 7 and No. 8 have any similarities? Both are lovely women who write paranormal novels.

If you’re reading, please take a few minutes to check out these great bloggers, and if you have a blog…Tag, you’re it!
